Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) of Sierra Rutile Ltd's Sembehun Minerals Sands Project

Sierra Rutile Limited (SRL) is expanding its operations to the Sembehun area and in accordance with national environmental regulations an Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) needs to be undertaken. This involves developing a baseline understanding of current community conditions for the affected communities within the Bagruwa Chiefdom.

As such, Digby Wells Environmental (DWE), an international consultancy firm based in South Africa with vast experience in undertaking projects of this nature (including the Area 1 development), was contracted to undertake the ESHIA update and associated studies. In accordance with the Local Content Policy of Sierra Leone, DWE contracted Cemmats Group Limited (a private consultancy firm based in Sierra Leone) as their local partner in the implementation of the Project.
